Superpower: Forcefield Projection
The ability to project and manipulate fields of energy
Force without mass is the greatest weapon. A person with Forcefield Manipulation can project durable, translucent fields of energy that will naturally form into bubbles unless mentally directed to do otherwise. They can be used as a shield or an offensive weapon.
The good:
Easy to win fights
Even easier to defend yourself
Very versatile
The bad:
Can be overloaded
Takes practice to use offensively
Takes focus

They either pop up, flow into place, or coalesce into a single field from several points--all depending on how fast or strong you want it to be.

No I mean do they just pop up or something?

Shimmering. Purple. Translucent.

what does it look like when the fields appear

Hmm too bad for the strength decreasing, I was thinking of using this power to prevent someone from leaving his/her room without he/she noticing it is me projecting the field. (Yes I also create stories in my free time but they are for my personal use only)

There has to be some kind of a gesture, even a nod or flicking motion. And yes the forcefield can be remotely projected, but the strength decreases with distance--maximum range, 1/3 mile.

New questions: do you have to wave your hands to use this power? And can you create a force field from a big distance?

OK thanks

You can use your Forcefield as a swinging bludgeon to knock around your foes. A Field blasting outwards could blow a hole in a stone wall; a Field constructed around an object allows you to move it. As an advanced technique, a user could form a tiny field INSIDE something and expand it rapidly, forcing it to be torn apart.

Now that I think of it, what are the different types of attacks you can do with this power? I have a little idea but I'm not really sure.
667  (8/03/2009 at 9:24 p.m.)
Well it's a shimmering purple kind of transluscent.
Dark  (8/03/2009 at 5:13 p.m.)
That is if he can see it. Forcefields are translucent and practically invisible, so there is still a wining chance against a phaser but it is small.

Well, let's get into some technical physics. When you touch an object, it pushes back a little bit. A Phaser can negate that and just go right through the object. And since Forcefields push back on an outside force too...yes, a Phaser could walk right through a Forcefield.

OOO thats a good question....

Would this power work against people with intangibility or phasing?
Dark  (8/02/2009 at 5:58 p.m.)
Sorry for the double post connection problem

That was exactly what I was thinking about ^^

Yes indeed. However, it would take less concentration to ride on, say, a floating disc or a pillar. The more circular the object, the easier it is to form.

Very interesting power. Now I know how versatile this power can be (I'm a fan of The Invisible Woman) but can you also create some sort of hoverboard with this power?
