Superpower: Bio-Modification
The ability to manipulate your dna to change yourself in any way you desire
You become whatever you want to be, by changing your actual DNA, not just shape-shifting, any ability you want can be coded into your DNA. IF you can imagine it, you can have it. Only rule you have to remember, is knowing what you have done before. Because you change your DNA, any and all mods will be transferred to your offspring.
The good:
Any superpower is yours when you want it.
Invulnerability to practically anything can be coded in
Can rule everything and everyone
The bad:
Might create a monstrous image if care isn't taken in
DNA might end up messed up so you will need an undo function
Have to remember what abilities you added

HIV turns your white blood cells into HIV factories, making them useless for immunoprotection work. This causes AIDS, where contagious illnesses (i.e. infuenza) kill the victim because they can run unchecked.
Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome.
I got a question. What does HIV and AIDs stand for? We're learning about it in class and it would be helpful to know

Also, unless all of the changes to your DNA were completely dominant, not all of them would transfer when you reproduce. But it's still a super awesome power.

You're right Holly, it shouldn't work because you've already formed, but because it's a super power it can work. This ability IS changing your form and DNA etc after you have formed. This is a really cool ability. If I used this on a RP site I would be accused of being a Mary Sue. Shame. I think that if I gave it to a character I made, I would make it so that the character has to know or work out everything he/she changes before he/she can change to make it slightly less Mary Sue like.
Oops, ran out of space. These synthesised proteins recombine with the RNA fragments to produce more copies of the retrovirus.
Guess I wasn't to clear abt what I was trying to say. I was using AIDS as a generic name for the virus. But to explain, HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, is a retrovirus. Retrovirus have 2 innate abilities that make them very useful, viz. after breaching the cell-wall they insert their genetic code into the cell's DNA. And secondly they can activate these inserted sequences. Thus the cell will generate RNA and mRNA from the sequences and thus synthesise proteins.
HIV is the virus that causes the disease AIDS. If there were a close analogy, it would be how E.Coli causes intestinal cramps. But much more tragic.
Isn't AIDS only caught by WooHoo in bed as the same as HIV, however HIV can be transfered from parent to offspring, AIDS does not?

Darkknite, HIV (I think you confused HIV with AIDS) does not change DNA. It uses T-cells as hosts to replicate itself, destroying the T-cells in the process and damaging the immune system.
Also abt the blue eyes thing, it is possible. But its only been recently that the DNA has been mapped far enuff that scientist actually know where on the DNA strand the color is stored. Also the whole DNA thing is a like a mosaic... If u change one letter, it has wide-spread affects on the whole strand, which is why I recommended caution in changing stuff.
I think it is possible, u can use a retrovirus to change parts of your DNA. How else do u think the AID's virus replicates itself? It uses the body's own mechanism to write its own DNA code. :(
That's kind of cool, Holly. I didn't know about that.

Holly's right, hence why when scientists spend millions of dollars making glow-in-the dark rats, they do it by introducing bioluminescence genes into a rat zygote rather than just injecting them into the rat.

I'm not sure about this because it's been awhile, but I remember my high school biology teacher explaining to the class that even if you change you DNA, it's not going to change you because you're already formed. You can't like decide you want blue eyes and change your DNA to make them blue. I know it's super powers, I just thought it'd be good to know this.
Totally WICKED!!!
